The Main Focus of the Research. The purpose Mellors study was to enhance the research of racism In Australia employing qualitative methods to look into a variety of racism experiences, claimed by indigenous Australians. This research concentrated on an individual Aboriginal subgroup: the urban Aboriginal residents of Melbourne, who call themselves as Koori people. Despite the fact that it is more than 30 years from the time when a referendum among the White population gave acknowledgement to Aborigines as citizens, they continue to struggle to claim their place as the first residents with their own elaborate cultures and spiritual connection to the land. The Methodology Used. The sample size was determined by redundancy, that is,†¦show more content†¦To stay clear of relative power relationships affecting such data range, the interviews were carried out on the participants’ own â€Å"territory† (i.e., at community centers and meeting places, or in their homes). Interviews were recorded, so participants could converse informally in a comfortable atmosphere. Moreover, the data were evaluated with NUD*IST, a software package that enables the research of qualitative data by classifying the data and creating links between those classifications and patterns. The Researcher’s Conclusions Racism constitutes a coherent complex of different kinds of verbal and physical behaviors, discrimination, and cultural domination and rejection that are experienced in diverse situations. In effect, these situations encompass all those that constitute everyday life: school, sport, shops, employment, public places, hotels, entertainment venues, transport, traffic, accommodation, and the socio/political environment. The racism is experienced to be present everywhere in society(Mellor, D.,2010,480). It is encountered in everyday contact with White people, which includes those who are in functions of authority and power (such as the police, teachers, service providers, government bureaucrats, and so on), in a position of equal power (such as peers, competitors in sport, the general public). In several cases where participants are in a position of relative power, racist attitude comes from clients, customers, or workers. There are three key areas for which an Audit Professional is required to demonstrate its professional acumen. Knowledge IES 2 is the standard which prescribes the specific knowledge which is required of an audit professional. The specific knowledge competency is required in three key sectors (a) Financial Statement Audit; (b) Financial Accounting and Reporting; and (c) Information Technology. The knowledge should be of advanced level and its competence that which is expected of professional accountants, (Gomez, 2012). Professional Skills The purpose of the standard is to ensure that the development and application of professional skills are specific to those prescribed in IES 3. The Audit Professionals are expected to possess these skills and apply them in an appropriate audit environment suitable for professional accountants, (Leung, Coram Cooper, 2012). Practical Experience It is expected of all Audit Professionals that they gain the prescribed relevant practical experience before they get involved in financial statement audit work.
